Vaccination against leishmaniosis is from now on possible!

Much sooner than we expected the first protective inoculation in Europe against canine leishmaniosis has now been licensed in Spain. Today we have received the first batch of vials. We are therefore able with immediate effect to protect your dog prophylactically against this illness which is incurable and often fatal.

You can imagine how many dog owners in Spain are looking forward to this vaccination. We may temporarily experience problems with stock levels.

To obtain effective immunisation your dog has to receive a primary course of inoculations consisting of 3 vaccinations 3 weeks apart from each other. After that a yearly booster injection is necessary.

Requirement for this vaccination is that your dog has not been infected yet. It is therefore necessary to take a blood sample just before the inoculation to do a leishmaniosis-quick-test. Following a negative result we can proceed with the first injection of the course of three.
